The 800 Group

PSS and 6 long standing voluntary sector partners have come together to form the 800 Group. Age Concern Liverpool, Imagine, Nugent Care, Bradbury Fields, Henshaws, Merseyside Society for Deaf People and PSS began working together in the Spring, to use resources more creatively and efficiently to innovate new service models.

“800” reflects the cumulative number of years that the partners have been trading.

PSS Chief Executive, Robin Currie, seen here with his 800 Group colleagues, signing an Agreement of Understanding said “This initiative is not just about what we do or the services we provide but the way in which we deliver them to improve the quality of services for vulnerable people. The social enterprise of 800 Group members is far greater and stronger in partnership.”

The partners held a joint staff event in September and are currently working together on a number of projects to increase the amount of their investment that goes to direct service delivery.

Paul Clitheroe, PSS Commercial Manager, said that “800 partners are looking to use resources more creatively and efficiently to, for example, support the development of enterprise, innovate new service models and projects, and contribute to the development of the personalised care agenda. Staff from partner agencies are currently looking at how we can more efficiently raise funds, purchase supplies, involve people, train and manage our staff and volunteers.”
