WIRRAL YOUNG CARERS – Voice for Change

PSS Young Carers are making a positive contribution on the Wirral.

All young people who use our Wirral project completed questionnaires about how they felt about their physical and emotional well-being, and also gave their views and thoughts about the locality and wider environment. Wirral Young Carers were concerned about deforestation, car pollution, graffiti, oil spillages in the sea and the rubbish. They felt strongly about doing something to help their direct environment.

Young Carers have set up small teams to help with environmental projects such as beach tidies, park tidies and planting. The first beach tidy was on Heswall beach on the Wirral where they worked in partnership with the Blue Planet Aquarium, RSPB, local volunteers and Wirral coastal wardens. Young Carers really enjoyed the morning and are keen to continue to make a positive contribution.
