Caring for others in your own home

Adult Placement provides alternative family care for adults who, because of their needs, cannot live independently. Individuals live with a specially recruited Carer who has been assessed, approved, trained and carefully matched with their needs. They are integrated into the household and live as a member of the family.

The one-to-one support provided by Adult Placement enables people to grow and develop skills and self esteem. Feeling valued in a caring, homely environment, and developing kinship networks in the local community has contributed to the transition of many of our service users into living more independent lifestyles and has facilitated their integration into the wider community.

Adult Placement provides safe accommodation in the Carer's home on a short term, transitional or long term basis. Short breaks and day care can be provided in the Carer’s home, as a refreshing alternative to traditional options. Carers receive ongoing training, support and supervision with access to our ‘Out of Hours’ Emergency Service which is supported by professionally trained staff.
