Relief Support Workers

PSS Wirral provides personal, tailored supported to people in their own homes. Our aim is to enable people to reach their full potential by providing quality support packages delivered by highly trained staff. The role will involve assistance with personal care (bathing, dressing, feeding etc) daily living skills and social activities.

We offer a great working environment, valuable experience and extensive training opportunities. Applicants must be enthusiastic, flexible and caring with good communication skills. Experience of working with people who have support needs is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

PSS SCOTLAND

Relief Support Workers
£7.11 (qualified) or £6.64 per hour
To work as and when required by the projects in Scotland

We are looking for conscientious and enthusiastic applicants with a flexible approach, to provide support with activities of daily living to individuals across all Scotland Projects. Applicants must have the ability to work independently, but also contribute to and enhance our current staff team. Good communication skills and practical domestic skills are essential for this position, together with a genuine commitment to work with people with a wide range of complex needs.

This post is regulated work with protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007, in the event that you are offered this post you will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.

This is a challenging and exciting role for a committed and highly motivated individual with a flexible attitude, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment to join our team in Kirkintilloch.

Applicants must have an SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or comparable qualification such as HNC or HND in Business Administration) professional telephone manner, excellent organisational and communication skills as well as the ability to work unsupervised and on their own initiative. Applicants must also have competent IT skills including a working knowledge of MS Office packages.

PSS are working with Barnsley PCT to deliver Barnsley NHS Health Trainers programme, a Government initiative to reduce health inequalities. Barnsley NHS Health Trainers are a new and dynamic workforce based in and working in communities across Barnsley, supporting individuals to make healthier lifestyle choices.

The main role of a Health Trainer is to offer support, motivation and encouragement to help people make a lifestyle change. Health Trainers also signpost to services, make referrals to appropriate agencies and work with people on a one to one basis to plan out their journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Applicants must have good communication skills and an interest in health and well-being. Experience of working with individual/groups within local communities is desirable although we are interested in hearing from people with a range of experience.

Successful applicants will receive high quality, accredited training and development to undertake this role.
