The overall purpose of the project was to work with local people in the Anfield ward to sustainably raise health literacy by providing community members with health awareness training, community knowledge and dedicated support from the project workers to then become a source of health signposting within their own community. Working closely with the Liverpool Health Trainer Team and the Community Health Ambassador Team, the Project aimed to tackle many issues including the improvement of Health Literacy of local people, increasing the participation of local people in health events and services, and the recruitment of 10 Health Champions.
